Chris & Sheralyn Bennett (and Kanga & Peanut)

So it was my 24th birthday about a month ago- April 15th! I know this is a horrible day for many (taxes, anyone?) but at least something good came out of that day, right? Haha. I had a superb birthday, Chris & I got to go to Color Me Mine and make plates. He also surprised me by coming home from work early with some flower & The Black Eyed Peas CD. My mom & Colin took us all out to lunch as well to celebrate! Fun times!

One thing Chris & I have always done is going on Sunday walks. It is a great way to get some exercies, fresh air, and quality time together. We love having the puppies to take along as well. They love to get out & about and meet new people and dogs.

Yay for springtime! Our tulips are blooming & the weather is (kinda) starting to get warmer! Chris & I both are definitely warm weather lovers, so we are loving it. There is something about spring that makes you feel renewed & reenergized. Also, you start to realize (maybe because of more sunlight?) how much you need to deep clean your house and get your yard in shape! Spring cleaning & yardwork here we come! 🙂 We have had a busy, fun month. Here are some pictures highlighting what we have been up to. Enjoy!

“The Prophet Joseph Smith’s desire was that the Saints should become economically self-sufficient. Our Father in Heaven has given all of His children everything they have—their talents, their abilities, their material goods—and has made them stewards over these blessings.”- L. Tom Perry

Chris & I have been striving to be more self-reliant by growing some vegetables & learning new skills to make & fix things. Not only does it save us money, but it is so satisfying to know that if it came down to it, we can do it on our own!

Ok, if you know me well, then you know I love a steal of a deal. And coupons. And they go hand in hand. Last summer, I went to a Savvy Shopper class at the Orem Macey’s Little Theatre, to hear some tips to save $. Amy, the Savvy Shopper showed me how to combine coupons, rebates, and sales to make our dollars stretch further. And who doesn’t need that? It is awesome, you can check it out at

Some point in life, you realize that the most important thing we have is each other. What would life be without family & friends to liven up the days, and make us smile? We are  lucky to have such fabulous family & friends, both near and far! 🙂 We love you all dearly! I know it sounds corny, but it is true!

When we heard about the Give a Day for a Disney Day, Chris & I knew we had to do it! You volunteer for something, and in return get a free ticket to Disneyland. Pretty awesome! We signed up to go help with a Habitat for Humanity home in Spanish Fork. So we spent a Saturday morning painting & tiling at the Tukuafu home.
